- Instruction, as part of every program.
Not included
- Your clothing, footwear for the walk in and, on ice days, boots that take crampons.
- Transportation, food, lodging and any park fees. You meet your guide at the trailhead.
Gratuities are never expected but always appreciated.
How booking works
Paying
A request is not a booking yet. The date is held once it has been confirmed in writing and paid.
- A single guided day is paid in full when it is booked.
- Multi-day and custom trips take a 50% deposit, with the balance due 30 days before the first day. The deposit includes a planning fee of 15% of the trip price, which is not refundable.
- Organizations pay 50% when the agreement is signed, and the balance is invoiced 30 days before the day.
Weather
The guide makes the weather call. Usually the day moves to another crag or objective, at the same price. You drive yourself to the new spot.
If no workable option exists and the day is called off before it starts, every effort goes into rescheduling it. You can choose a full refund instead. Permit fees already paid to a land manager are the one exception.
If you decide to cancel because of the weather, the cancellation schedule applies.
If you cancel a single day
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| 15 or more days before | Full |
| 7 to 14 days before | 75% |
| 3 to 6 days before | 50% |
| 48 to 72 hours before | 25% |
| Less than 48 hours before, or not showing up | None |
Cancel by email. A call or a text does not cancel a booking. Notice that arrives after 4:00 p.m. Eastern counts from the next day. Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, within 10 business days.
Multi-day and custom trips have their own schedule, and an organization's signed agreement sets its own terms.
Rescheduling
- 15 or more days before: one free reschedule.
- 3 to 14 days before: $75 to reschedule.
- Less than 72 hours before: treated as a cancellation.
A rescheduled day is taken within 12 months.
The full Booking Terms come with every booking, before you pay.
